Aquinas Education’s Primary consultant Sam Leggitt along with Nottingham Forest’s captain Henri Lansbury attended the William Booth Primary school to launch their Rock and Read project! The Project aims to encourage children to read for at least 10 minutes every night after school. It was fantastic that Lansbury could take time out of his busy training schedule to support the Aquinas Foundation and one of the schools that we work with.
The school is focusing on literacy and reading and realises how important it is for children to read books at home as well as in school. To have someone such as Henri Lansbury visit the school will only be a positive thing for the pupils of William Booth as he is someone in the public eye and an inspiration for most young children in Nottingham. Aquinas will continue to work on similar projects with the school. We will be interested to find out whether the reading project was a success and hope that we have made an impact with regards to reading books at home!
